Winter Jumpers

For those of you who haven't already bought them, please note that there are jumpers available to buy from Ms. Theresa in the uniform shop at the school.  They are 100% cotton and cost 60sdg.  Nursery children should wear the red jumpers and Preschool children should wear the blue to match their uniforms.

Week 10

What an exciting and busy week for the children.  They had the opportunity to use the paddling pool this week, those who joined in had great fun.  They have very much enjoyed playing with our new 'Small World' toys - castle, dolls house, farm, fire station and boat.  Our new 'climbing wall' has finally been erected and is fully operational.  This has allowed the children to practice an additional skill.  The current theme is still weather and there are no end of activities related to this theme.

Nursery children have coloured pictures of umbrellas, done wind experiments and have created pictures of trees throughout the different seasons.  They have concentrated on the circle shape and are revising the colours.  They are learning new songs during circle time, in particular 'Wind the bobbin up'.

Preschool children have been learning the shape, sound and name for the letter 'n'.  They have been introduced to number 7 and are learning to count objects carefully pointing to each object one at a time. They are using musical instruments to focus and improve their listening skills.  They have taken advantage  of the cooler weather by spending plenty of time outdoors.  They made kites which provided much outdoor entertainment and they enjoyed using the parachute and having tricycle races.

Week 9

Welcome back after what was an unexpected, extended holiday, we have re-opened on Week 9.  The children settled back into routine very well and most of them were so happy to be back and to see their friends and teachers.
Both Nursery and Preschool children are currently still discussing and learning about different types of weather.
Nursery children have made clouds with lightning, rainbows with clouds and most excitingly 'mud'.  They have also had new experiences with our special gel that has a fantastic fruity smell.
Preschool children have been learning the shape, sound and name for the letter 'i'.  They have been introduced to number 6 and revising the shapes, circle and triangle.

Nursery Closure

Due to a viral infection amongst the children,  the Nursery will be closed from Tuesday 24th to Thursday 26th inclusive.  The Nursery will re-open on Saturday 28th September for all students.   Anybody wishing to purchase books from the book club may pass by the Nursery to place their order or pay directly to the Primary School secretary in the main school building.

We apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause and hope you understand that the decision has been taken in an attempt to stamp out the infection and is ultimately for the health of your children.
