The theme this week has been 'Homes'. The children have discussed the different types of buildings in which people live, from a windmills to a mansion houses.
Nursery children used stamps to imitate wallpaper, drew pictures and made frames to hang on the wall, made pictures of houses from different shapes and made birds nests with little eggs. They enjoyed playing games such as; finding the bunch of hidden keys outdoors, using sheets and curtains to make tents/houses, packing things into boxes imititing moving house, making homes for the teddies and dolls from boxes, making houses from lego, making sandcastles in the sandpit and using the larger building bricks to make walls and houses.
Preschool children have been revising letters h, b, l and f and tracing number 1-8 this week. They have made hives, boats, L collage and mini books all about the letter f. They have done various activities to reinforce their learning of different homes including making homes from material, making houses from shapes and sorting items/furnishings that go in different rooms,
