Week 20 saw the children continuing their themes about animals.
Nursery children have been practising their new animal songs and making crafts related to the jungle/zoo animal theme. They have been naming colours, shapes, body parts, jungle/zoo animals and practising counting to 10. They have been listening to the sounds that the animals make and trying to copy them too. In the soft play room and front garden, they have been practising their balancing skills.
Preschool children have been introduced to the letter k, the way it is formed, the sound that it makes and objects and names that begin with it. They have been introduced to the number 13 and understand that 13 is 10 and 3 more. They have done many farm related activities and crafts including making a small book about what you can see at the farm. They are learning the names of the baby animals and matching them to the adult animals.
On Saturday, whilst the rest of the school were having sports day at the Green Yard, the children went to the school to take advantage of the play areas there. They had a great time and enjoyed racing around the basketball court.
