Week 27

This week the theme has shifted to Nursery Rhymes.  The children have been doing activities related to the Rhymes theme.

Nursery children have made spider webs and spiders for 'Incy Wincy Spider', Glittery stars for 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' and Washing Lines for 'This Old Man'.  They have been improving their pencil control and observational skills by doing worksheets such as matching flowers, completing mazes and choosing the appropriate size bone for the dogs. Unfortunately their swimming session was cancelled due to a chilly wind, we hope the weather will be warmer next Thursday so that they may enjoy then.

Preschool children have been introduced to the letter 'h' through sound, songs and crafts.  They have made Humpty Dumpty crafts, horses and houses from the letter 'h', 'Hickory Dickory Dock' clocks and 'Hey Diddle, Diddle' rhyme books. They revised the shapes during circle time and through various activities including drawing and tracing.  When working on numbers, they concentrated on 1 less, 2 less and Take away 1.  On Saturday, many of the children joined in with the swimming activity which they greatly enjoyed. Next week they will focus on the letter 'b'.
